The Pittsburgh Pirates will mark their 42 years of playing in Bradenton, FL when they open their 2010 spring training schedule on February 25th at home against the Philadelphia Phillies. McKechnie Field in Bradenton, FL ©WorldsBestDeals.com The 33-game schedule consists of 16 home games, including the annual exhibition charity game against State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (formerly Manatee Community College). The Pirates will open their 2010 Grapefruit League season against the World Champion New York Yankees in Tampa on Wednesday, March 3. The Pirates will host the National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies in their spring training Home Opener at McKechnie Field on Saturday, March 6 at 1:05 p.m.

The Pirates are scheduled to play a night game for the third straight year at McKechnie Field when they host the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday, March 10 at 7:05 p.m. The game will mark the first time the Pirates have played the Orioles at McKechnie Field since 1993.

Highlights of the home schedule include:

Two games against the World Champion New York Yankees (Monday, March 8 and Sunday, March 14)
Two games against the Boston Red Sox (Friday, March 19 and Wednesday, March 24)
Two games against the National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies (Saturday, March 6 and Monday, March 15)
Two games against the New York Yankees (Monday March 8 and Sunday March 14)
The annual charity game against SCF (Thursday, March 2)

Hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday. The box office is open on all game days starting at 9:00 a.m. and closes 30 minutes after the game. Beginning late January fans may call 877-893-2827 to order tickets by phone. Convenience charges apply to phone orders. Tickets can not be purchased by calling the McKechnie Field box office. McKechnie Field is located at 17th Avenue West and 9th Street West Bradenton, FL 34208 1/2 mile west of Highway 41 on 9th St. (Bus. 41) at 17th Ave. Day games start at 1:05 PM and night games at 7:05 PM Practices start at 9 a.m. at Ed Smith Stadium and Bradenton Sports Complex, before exhibitions begin. From North (St. Petersburg): Go over Skyway Bridge to Exit 2 (19 South). Continue on 41 South. Make a right turn onto 17th Avenue West and continue to McKechnie Field. From South: Take Route 41 North to Cortez Road, go straight onto Business 41 and turn right onto 17th Ave. West. Ballpark is located at intersection of 17th Avenue West and 9th Street West. From Interstate 75: Exit I-75 at S.R. 64 West (exit 42 if traveling south, exit 42B if traveling north). Go west on Route 64 to 9th Street West and turn left to the ballpark.
