The Kansas City Royals hold their 2008 Spring Training schedule in Surprise, Arizona near Flagstaff.

The club will open its sixth season as members of the 12-team Cactus League by playing a charity game against its Surprise complex mates, the Texas Rangers, on Wednesday, Feb. 27. The game benefits the Surprise Sundancers. The Royals will officially open Cactus League play on Friday, Feb. 29 in Peoria against the San Diego Padres.

Kansas City's 30-game Spring Training schedule features 13 home games at Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Ariz. The club will also face the Texas Rangers as the visiting team in three additional games at the facility, including the Feb. 27 charity game.

The 2008 slate features consecutive Sunday home games against the Chicago Cubs (March 9) and the San Francisco Giants (March 16). In addition, the Royals will face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Surprise on March 24, as the Dodgers are taking over the Oakland Athletics spring schedule beginning on March 20. Oakland will be opening the season against Boston in Japan on March 25.

The Royals will host every Cactus League squad at Surprise Stadium at least once. The March 24 game against the Los Angeles Dodgers is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. (CT). All other games will start at 2:05 p.m. (CT) until Daylight Saving Time on March 9 when the games will start at 3:05 p.m. (CT).

The Royals will conclude their 2008 Spring Training schedule by traveling to Milwaukee to face the Brewers in two exhibition games at Miller Park on March 28 and 29. The Friday night game will be played at 7:05 p.m. (CT) and the Saturday game at 1:05 p.m. (CT).

Surprise Stadium is located at 15850 N. Bullard Ave. in Surprise, Arizona. Kansas City based HOK Sports designed the 10,500-seat facility, which officially opened on Dec. 7, 2002. Field dimensions are 350 feet down the lines, 379 feet in the power alleys and 400 feet to center field.

Directions
Surprise Stadium is located 1 1/2 miles west of the intersection of Bell Road and Grand Avenue (U.S. Route 60). Bullard Avenue is located off of Bell Road, 1 1/2 miles west of Grand Avenue, or 2 1/2 miles east of Loop 303.
