The Detroit Tigers hold their
spring training in
Lakeland,
Florida near beautiful Tampa, Florida
on the Gulf of Mexico. The Tigers open the
2008 Spring Training slate with a home game on
February 27 against the New York Mets. 2008 will mark the Tigers 72nd season
at "Tiger Town" in Lakeland, extending the longest-lasting relationship
between a major league baseball team and a current Spring Training host
city. The 2008 spring season also marks the club's 43rd consecutive season
of exhibition play at Joker Marchant Stadium.
The Tigers will begin the exhibition schedule on Tuesday, February 26
when the club battles Lakeland's Florida Southern College at 1:05 p.m. at
Joker Marchant Stadium. The Tigers will play 16 Grapefruit League games at
Joker Marchant Stadium during the 2008 exhibition season. Highlights of the
home schedule include two visits from the American League Central Division
Champion Cleveland Indians on March 1 and March 23 and two visits from the
National League East Division Champion Philadelphia Phillies on March 5 and
March 27. The Tigers also host the New York Yankees at Joker Marchant
Stadium on March 15. Tiger Town is the Spring Training headquarters for the Detroit Tigers
and the regular season home of its minor league farm team in the Class A
Florida State League, The Lakeland Tigers.

Tickets for 2008 spring season will be priced at two separate
levels. The first set is for premium games, which include all
games against the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, New York
Mets, New York Yankees and all Friday, Saturday and Sunday
games. The second price level is for the remainder of the
