The Orioles will open their 13th
spring training season in Fort Lauderdale with a game against the Florida
Marlins on Thursday, February 28, the first of 15 home games the club will
play as part of their 2008 spring schedule.
Including the opener, the Orioles
and Marlins will meet a total
of seven times during the spring, four times in Fort Lauderdale and three
times in Jupiter. The Orioles will also host the
New York Mets three times at
home in 2008 and face the St.
Louis Cardinals, Minnesota
Twins and Washington
Nationals two times each at Fort Lauderdale Stadium.
The
Boston Red Sox will visit Fort
Lauderdale on Friday, March 7 and the Orioles will travel to Fort Myers to
face the World Series champions on Friday, March 14. The
Los Angeles Dodgers will
host the Orioles in Vero Beach on Monday, March 3, and then play in Fort
Lauderdale on Monday, March 10. |
The Orioles will play
their last 2008 spring training game in Fort Lauderdale on
Friday, March 28 against the New York Mets and then return to
Baltimore. Following FanFest at Camden Yards on Saturday, March
29, the Orioles conclude their exhibition schedule that evening
with a game at Nationals Park in Washington, DC.
